Engineers
• Reduce risk of moisture-related insulation failures
• Simplify specifications with one integrated system
• Enable inspection and maintenance access
• Deliver decades of freeze protection in exposed environments
Contractors
• Install with your existing construction crew
• Eliminate the need for an insulation subcontractor
• Reduce field fabrication and trade coordination
• Keep water and sewer projects moving
Distributors
• Expand the waterworks material package
• Bring contractors a complete insulation solution
• Win approved-equal opportunities
• Differentiate from competing waterworks suppliers
Owners
• Reduce long-term insulation maintenance
• Simplify pipeline inspection and maintenance
• Mitigate moisture-related insulation failures
• Get decades of protection against freezing
Proven on Real Projects.
Shoshone, Idaho Water Main
Two 24-inch ductile iron bridge crossings insulated by the contractor’s own construction crew without a specialty insulation contractor.
APPLICATION: Bridge crossings
PIPE: 24-inch ductile iron (AWWA C151)
SCOPE: 240 linear feet of insulated piping
INSTALLATION: Contractor’s existing crew
Salt Lake City, Utah Temporary Sewer Main
24-inch temporary fused PVC sewer bypass insulated by contractor personnel.
APPLICATION: Temporary bypass
PIPE: 24-inch fused PVC (AWWA C900)
SCOPE: 480 linear feet of insulated piping
INSTALLATION: Contractor’s existing crew
Milan, Missouri Water Main
1,800 linear feet of exposed bridge crossings in approximately 65 labor-hours.
APPLICATION: Bridge crossings
PIPE: 10 and 16-inch welded steel
SCOPE: 1,800 linear feet of insulated piping
INSTALLATION: ~65 labor-hours
Spokane, Washington Cased Water Main
14-inch fused PVC water main insulated by the contractor’s construction crew during installation through a casing pipe.
APPLICATION: Cased road crossing
PIPE: 14-inch fused PVC (AWWA C900)
SCOPE: 230 linear feet of insulated piping
INSTALLATION: Contractor’s construction crew insulated the main as it was pushed through the casing.
PIPE INSULATION FOR WATER & WASTEWATER INFRASTRUCTURE
Dragon Jacket provides prefabricated pipe insulation for exposed water mains, sewer force mains, bridge crossings, utility crossings, and temporary bypass piping. Each component combines thermal insulation and protective jacketing in a factory-fabricated assembly designed for long-term exposure to moisture and weather.
Systems can be manufactured for ductile iron, steel, PVC, HDPE, and other common IPS and DIPS piping systems. Straight pipe, fittings, valves, supports, and other pipeline components can be insulated as part of a complete system.
